The diocese of Leribe in Lesotho is entering a new chapter with the appointment of Mons. Vitalis Sekhonyana Marole as its new bishop. Pope Francis has accepted the retirement of Bishop Augustinus Tumaole Bane, who has faithfully served the diocese, and appointed Mons. Marole as his successor.
Until now, Mons. Marole has been serving as the parish priest of the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Parish in Waverley, within the metropolitan archdiocese of Pretoria. A dedicated member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI), he brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the Catholic faith. His appointment, made public by the Holy See Press Office on February 28, marks a new beginning for the diocese of Leribe.
As we celebrate this significant moment in the life of the church in Lesotho, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mons. Vitalis Sekhonyana Marole. We also warmly welcome him to the IMBISA family, where his leadership and vision will undoubtedly continue to inspire and guide the faithful. May his ministry be filled with grace and fruitfulness as he serves his new community in the spirit of service and faith.
