Pope Leo XIV appoints Bishop Osório Citora Afonso as Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Beira, Mozambique
IMBISA joins in prayer upon the announcement of the appointment of Bishop Osório Citora Afonso, Bishop of Quelimane, as Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Beira, announced by the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, today, April 10, 2026.
We thank God for the dedication of Bishop Cláudio Dalla Zuanna for these years of pastoral service in this part of God’s people. At the same time, we pray for his health and recovery.
We count on the prayers and support of all God’s people in the IMBISA region for this new task of Bishop Osório. Let us welcome him with open hearts and readiness to walk together in a synodal way.
