Pope Leo XIV signs first Encyclical “Magnificas Humanitas”, set for May 25 release

Magnifica Humanitas”: This is the title of Leo XIV’s first encyclical, “on the protection of the human person in the age of Artificial Intelligence”.

The document will be published on May 25th and bears the Pope’s signature and the date of May 15th, the 135th anniversary of the promulgation of Pope Leo XIII’s encyclical Rerum Novarum.

The presentation of “Magnifica Humanitas” (Magnificent Humanity) will take place on the same day as its publication, May 25th, at 11:30 am, in the Synod Hall, with Leo XIV himself in attendance.

The speakers will be Cardinals Víctor Manuel Fernández, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, and Michael Czerny, S.J., Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.
