The statement noted the Pope had received the Eucharist earlier in the day and spent time reading and working. Despite his health challenges, he remains engaged with his duties.
Pope Francis expressed deep gratitude for the many messages of support and prayers he has received, especially those from fellow patients in hospitals. He offered his prayers for them in return, asking for their continued prayers for him as well.
According to the Vatican News, it was also confirmed that the Pope’s general audience for the week had been cancelled due to his current condition.
