From September 17 to 20, 2024, the IMBISA Standing Committee convened for its 80th meeting at the Maria Regina Pastoral Centre in Dobra, Windhoek.
The meeting commenced with an impactful training session on advocacy led by Mwila Mulimbi, the CAFOD Regional Coordinator. This session fostered a thought-provoking discussion on addressing controversial advocacy issues.
Following the training, the bishops engaged in strategic planning for the upcoming IMBISA Plenary and Jubilee, scheduled for 2025 in Eswatini. The 14th Plenary Assembly will coincide with the jubilee celebrations, themed “IMBISA Golden Jubilee: A synodal journey, nourished by compassion and blossoming in faith as pilgrims of hope.”
On the final day, bishops visited St. Augustine’s Parish, the NCBC Offices, and the Seminary. The meeting concluded with a mass at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic School, celebrated by Bishop Siphiwo Vanqa.
