SACBC appoints new Associate Secretary General

The Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference welcomes Sr Dominica Mkhize FSF as the new Associate Secretary General. She is replacing Sr Phuthunywa Siyali HC who has been elected as the Provincial Leader of the Southern Province of the Holy Cross Sisters. Sr Phuthunywa is sincerely thanked for her dedication, commitment and hard work during her time as Associate Secretary General.

Sr Dominica is a member of the Daughters of St Francis of Assisi who were founded on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 8th December 1922, at Mariannhill in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Having matriculated from St Francis College in Mariannhill, Sr Dominica went on to study through the University of South Africa (UNISA). She obtained a Diploma in Theology, a Bachelor of Arts (BA), and a BA Honours. To equip her for a role in formation she participated in a Formation Program at Loreto House in Dublin and a Spiritual Direction Training Program through the Jesuit Institute in Johannesburg.

Sr Dominica spent many years in the leadership of her Congregation having recently finished her term as Directress General. Sr Dominica brings to the job her many and varied experiences and will most certainly enrich Khanya House with her presence.

The IMBISA Secretariat congratulates Sr Dominica Mkhize on her new position and wishes her well in her new responsibilities.
