SECAM Standing Committee Meeting Press Release

TO THE CHURCH, FAMILY OF GOD IN AFRICA AND THE ISLANDS
AND TO ALL MEN AND WOMEN OF GOOD WILL

We, members of’ the SECAM Standing Committee, gathered in Accra, Ghana, (at the SECAM Secretariat) from February 14 — 17, 2023, in an extraordinary meeting, warmly send you greetings of peace and hope in Jesus our Saviour.

Our meeting aimed at two main objectives namely to address the situation of vacancies at SECAM, and to study and approve the SECAM Strategic Plan 2022-2025.

Observing the provisions of Articles 12 and 13 of chapter IV of the SECAM By-Laws, we, the members of the Standing Committee of SECAM confirmed the immediate past SECAM Vice- President, Fridolin Cardinal AMBONGO, for the position of President of SECAM, replacing the late Richard Cardinal BAA WOBR. We did same to Most Rev. Lucio Andrice MUANDULA, from the position of Second Vice-President to the position of the First Vice-President. Lastly, we elected Most Rev. Stephen Dami MAMZA, Bishop of the Diocese of Yola in Nigeria as the Second Vice- President of SECAM and confirmed Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe KUMORDJI as the Treasurer.

In this way, the SECAM Presidential Council is recomposed taking into consideration the SECAM linguistic representations (French, Portuguese and English). So, currently, this Council is as follow:

  • President: Fridolin Cardinal AMBONGO (Democratic Republic of Congo)
  • First Vice-P resident: Most Rev. Lucio And rice MUANDU LA (Mozambique)
  • Second Vice-President: Most Rev. Stephen Dami MAMZA (Nigeria).
  • Treasurer: Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe KUMORDJI (Ghana)

The members of the SECAM Standing Committee have also, among other matters, studied and approved the SECAM Strategic Plan 2022-2025.
