The Holy Father, Pope Francis has appointed Bishop Antonio Juliasse Ferreira Sandramo as Bishop of the Diocese of Pemba, in northern Mozambique.
In 2018 Pope Francis had appointed Bishop Antóno Juliasse, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Maputo. With the transfer of Bishop Luiz Lisboa, who was Bishop of Pemba until 2021, to a Diocese in Brazil, Bishop Antonio Juliasse was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Pemba continuing as Auxiliary Bishop of Maputo until now that the Pope appointed him Bishop of Pemba.
IMBISA welcomes with joy the news of his appointment. We wish to take this opportunity to congratulate Bishop Juliasse on his appointment and at the same time the people of God in the Diocese of Pemba who already have their shepherd.
Bishop Julisse is a member of the Standing Committee of IMBISA where he has proven to be a very active Bishop committed to the cause of the Gospel.
