HIS HOLINESS, POPE LEO XIV, HAS APPOINTED FR. LINUS AS THE APOSTOLIC VICAR OF RUNDU

It is with joy and gratitude to the Lord Jesus, the Good Shepherd, that IMBISA receives the news of the appointment of the Reverend Father Linus Ngenomesho OMI as Apostolic Vicar for the Apostolic Vicariate of Rundu, Namibia. We thank the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, for this act of care and pastoral solicitude, highlighting for that portion of God’s people a sure guide.

In accordance with Canon 371, n. 1 of the Code of Canon Law, “An Apostolic Vicariate is a certain portion of the people of God which, due to circumstances, has not yet been established as a diocese and has been entrusted to the pastoral care of an Apostolic Vicar to govern it in the name of the Supreme Pontiff.”

We greet him with hope and friendship, ready to walk together in unity and mission at IMBISA. We ask the faithful of Rundu to receive him with the same affection and dedication they have always shown to their pastors, and that the new Pastor may find in Rundu a vibrant community committed to the mission.

We offer our prayers and full collaboration so that his mission, undertaken with availability and generosity, may be fruitful in that ecclesiastical zone on its way to becoming a Diocese.
